Anyone who knows me will know how much I love, promote and try to practise self care. When you pop the word ‘cosy’ in front of it, it just makes it so much better! The level of happiness those three words give me is immense.
I love promoting self care in so many ways and I like to keep it realistic and achievable to anyone from any walk of life.
When some people think of self care, thy imagine a spa where you check yourself into, get a massage, have a face mask professionally applied and sitting back relaxing sipping a lovely beverage.
Some people think that going to the gym or fitness classes and eating and drinking super healthy is self care.
These most certainly are self care! However it seems like there is a typical set of ‘self care’ practises that springs to peoples minds. What I’m getting at is that self care is a huge subject full of wonderful things we can do. Self care is to the individual. Self care can be binge watching your fave show on the sofa with your partner. Self care can be allowing yourself to say no to a party you’re feeling anxious about. Self care is taking time to understand what your mind, body and soul needs to feel better. Self care is treating yourself to that chocolate cake you’ve been eyeing up without feeling guilty. Self care is about taking care of yourself but not only in terms of fitness and health, but in what you want too. Finding balance in our self care is wonderful. If we fancy a green tea let’s do it, if we fancy a chocolate bar let’s dig in! If we need a night out dancing, let’s go let our hair down.
Self care for me is:
* Having a lovely hot bubble bath with my favourite products
* Trying new herbal tea and sitting down with a face & hair mask on watching TV or movies.
* Getting dressed up nice and having a few glasses of prosecco
* Having a quiet night in with my partner and pets!
* Having some Me time to be still without worry of others around me
* Making lovely warming and comforting food & treats
* Getting my nails done to feel pretty and badass
* Buying pillows & making my room my happy place
Cosy is one of my favourite words! It is charming, cute, warming and happy.
I love to relax with a warm drink, squash, soft blanket and my sketch pad or graphics tablet.
I love putting candles on all around the room and letting my fairy lights create a warm glow.
I absolutely love being inside during an autumn crisp morning! What better than to be inside cosy and happy and seeing the morning sun peep through the clouds whilst red leaves fall from trees?
I personally find it hard to get cold and therefore I can be limited to blankets and jumpers, hence why I love colder weather! When It gets cold I can finally get cosy in my thick jumpers, slipper socks and cosying up to my partner! During the warm seasons I am a hot mess (Hot as in warm…but it can be what you make it hehe), I can rarely cope with the sun and I end up a sweaty gal who can not cosy up and cuddle during evening time! Praise the cooler weather for allowing me to keep cosy hehe.
