Anyone who knows me will know how much I love, promote and try to practise self care. When Β you pop the word ‘cosy’ in front of it, it just makes it so much better! The level of happiness those three words give me is immense.
I love promoting self care in so many ways and I like to keep it realistic and achievable to anyone from any walk of life.
When some people think of self care, thy imagine a spa where you check yourself into, get a massage, have a face mask professionally applied and sitting back relaxing sipping a lovely beverage.
Some people think that going to the gym or fitness classes and eating and drinking super healthy is self care.
These most certainly are self care! However it seems like there is a typical set of ‘self care’ practises that springs to peoples minds. What I’m getting at is that self care is a huge subject full of wonderful things we can do. Self care is to the individual. Self care can be binge watching your fave show on the sofa with your partner. Self care can be allowing yourself to say no to a party you’re feeling anxious about. Self care is taking time to understand what your mind, body and soul needs to feel better.Β Self care is treating yourself to that chocolate cake you’ve been eyeing up without feeling guilty. Self care is about taking care of yourself but not only in terms of fitness and health, but in what you want too. Finding balance in our self care is wonderful. If we fancy a green teaΒ let’sΒ do it, if we fancy a chocolate bar let’s dig in! If we need a night out dancing, let’s go let our hair down.
