Do you love cosy games? If so, you’ve come to the right place. Some people get confused by my love of games that are… simpler than others. I get told that some games I play are boring too, but honestly there’s something for everyone, and cosy, relaxing, easy going games are the kind we’re discussing today. Here are my top cosy game recommendations!ย
The untitled goose game
This game is hilarious and super fun. You run around, as a goose, or even with a goose companion, and basically wreck shit in the town. You have a checklist of tasks that need to be done. You’re a busy goose with shit to do and people to annoy. It can be tense in some situations when you need to plan sneaky business in order to nab some items, but overall it’s cosy and fun. I never thought I’d enjoy being a goose so much!
Slime rancher
This game is truly wonderful! There are two of them and both are equally as relaxing and cosy to play. You play as a person who owns a beautiful, pastel coloured ranch on a unique planet. What is the ranch for you ask? Well, slimes! Yep. All different kinds of cute slimes that you can mix together and create unique ones. You take the slime plots (Basically their poop) and use it to trade in for money, which you use to upgrade your ranch and farm more slimes. You unlock the breath taking world bit by bit and honestly, it’s just such a lovely game to play when you want to wind down.
World of warcraft
A bit of a weird one for this article, but the way I’ve played it, has helped me feel cosy and content, so I thought I’d include it. WOW is a huge RPG that has been going for over a decade! You can choose whether to be on the Horde or Alliance, decide on a realm and become awesome characters of different races and class. I’ve pretty much got every combination you can have right now, and It’s so fun to see what works for you. It’s always fun starting in a new place, with a new character and different abilities. Following quests and doing them at your own pace is exactly why I find it cosy. It’s not face paced and stressful like other games, so it’s definitely one to sit back and find your groove with.ย
Lego game franchise
If you want an easy going handful of games to keep you fulfilled, I absolutely recommend Lego games. There is quite literally a whole world of games, or should I say worlds. From Harry Potter, to Indiana jones, you can play through the movie story line as lego versions of the characters, doing puzzle solving activities, and best of all, breaking EVERYTHING in return for studs! It is so satisfying. Honestly, If I could erase my memory of these games I would, just so that I could replay them and experience the joy all over again. I do believe there is something for everyone! The Lego game franchise covers Harry Potter, Star Wars, Indiana Jones, The Hobbit, Lord of the rings, Jurassic world, City undercover, Marvel and DC superheroes, The incredibles, Batman, Pirates of the Caribbean and more!ย
Hogwarts legacy
If you love the world of Harry Potter, then this one may be for you! It’s a fun game where you choose your house and how you look. You can literally create the wizard version of yourself. You go through the story and pick up side quests, building your own skills by attending classes and doing fun tasks given to you by various characters. You can even create your own potion and herb room in the room of requirement, which is just magical! Some parts were a little stressful, such as the broom flying, but that’s down to my own lack in coordination. Other than that, it’s a relaxing, beautiful game.
Power wash simulator
I feel like this is a controversial game. For me anyway, when I tell someone that I’m playing it, they look puzzled and question me as If I’ve lost the plot completely. The question often is, well isn’t that boring? The truth is, it probably is for some, but on the other hand, I find shooter games boring, so, I guess it goes both ways. For me, jet washing an extremely dirty building or car is so satisfying. I play it when I am stressed and when I need to just do something that requires zero effort or brain power. Trust me, don’t knock it til you try it!
Animal crossing
I think we can all agree that Animal Crossing is the kind of game you can lie down and relax with. You build your own little island and enjoy fishing, gathering supplies and basically living your own individual life on your own island. You pay your bills, but it’s so much more satisfying than in real life. Picking fruit, selling it and paying your mortgage – What a life!
Coffee talk
Coffee talk is the cosiest game I’ve played, but I’d say only just passes as a game in terms of the game play. If you’re not a fan of extremely laid back games with little actually game play, this may not be for you, but it’s worth giving a go. It’s very dialogue based, and more of a reading game. You serve customers of all species in your cosy little coffee shop, and have to use the correct combinations to fulfil their drink orders! You make friends, coffee, unique beverages and can even create cute coffee art, all behind the counter of your shop.
Alongside these video games, I love playing board games too, and find nothing cosier than an evening in, warm and content with friends or my fiancรฉ, playing board games or puzzle games. One incredible company for puzzle games is The Happy Puzzle Company! If you fancy a bit of a challenge whilst settling in for the evening, The Happy Puzzle company even have an award winning Genius puzzle collection to keep those brain juices flowing!

I’ve been looking for some nice cosy games to get back into, so this list was super helpful. I love the idea of the goose game (hilarious), and the Lego games. I’ve played a few of those before and always enjoyed them!
