There couldn’t have been a better food festival to go to for my first time! Independent Birmingham Food festival was absolutely delightful. There was an amazing range of food stalls from Birmingham restaurants and also lovely little stalls of small businesses. It was all held on the grounds of Aston Hall. Below are all of the food & drink stalls that were at this years Independent Birmingham Festival.

Where we ate!
So, savoury first! I had onion bhajis and masala fries from Zindiya. They were absolutely delicious. The onion bhaji’s were sooooo good; They were crispy on the outside but a great balance of moisture and richness in the middle. It came with a tamarind sauce which was beautiful. The taste was amazing and the portions were great too. It doesn’t look like much but believe me it’s enough. Super filling. I then had the Masala chips and they were just delicious. Again, the perfect texture; Crispy and moist and full of masala seasoning which gave a hint of spice and warmth.

Waffles
For dessert we decided on waffles from you guessed it…’Waffles’. I had a gorgeous biscoff and raspberry waffle and it was rich, biscuity, sweet, sour and fresh. It was weirdly light for such a sugary treat and It left me feeling very satisfied. I loved it!

Independent businesses
As well as the incredible food stalls, there were also independent companies who had their incredible products for sale. Below are images of the rest of the food stalls and the independent biz! Companies listed and linked below:
Foodie places: Fox & Chance, Kuula Poké, Pause, Yardbirds, Eat Vietnam, The Pineapple club, La-Pop!, The Wolf, Zindiya, Buddha Belly.
Independent businesses: You got this club, From the ground bakery, James Allen Art, Punk and chancers, My vintage prints, Pips hot sauce, Rotunda industries, House of two trees.
One thing I love is supporting small businesses. After all, every business started from nothing. With our support, these businesses can thrive and grow! Overall, Birmingham food festival was a blast. Good food, good company and amazing small business.
Thank you so much for reading this little foodie festival recap.
Stay wonderful!
