I love food all year round but during Autumn and the colder seasons, I enjoy making beautifully warm food for myself, friends and family. Autumn is the time for squash and hearty vegetables and there are so many wonderful recipes and dishes that go so well with a calming night in wrapped in a night warm blanket. Soups, pasta bakes, hearty casseroles and warming dishes are what make life wonderful, especially when it’s cold and raining outside hehe!
Homemade!
During the colder seasons you will find us with the recipe books out, the cupboards stocked up and the house smelling divine. We love creating warming, hearty foods and experimenting with flavours and cuisines! Making homemade soups is such a fun task. I love mixing them up with spices, herbs and different veg. You can create so many different types and enjoy with some shop bought or homemade crusty herby bread! Other things I love to make are tarts, pies and potato topped bakes. We use remade pastry for our tarts and either make them into a big parcel or make tiny tarts in our muffin trays. We put so many different ingredients in and it is so amazing to experiment with! My favourite is bangers and mash tarts!
Sweet stuff!
I love making sweet treats so much, especially when the weather gets colder! What better than a hot drink and a sweet treat? I also love how you can make them look wonderful for halloween like using colouring to transform your treats into little monsters or making some cool decorations with some icing!
