Happy Monday β˜•οΈ

I've been listening to an audiobook on @audible_com this morning whilst feeling the breeze from the window, before the school run.

Does anyone other Aspie have an incredibly sensitive sense of smell? To the point where it's uncomfortable?

I'd love to know! #AutismAcceptance #AutismAwareness #aspergers

A letter to my January 2020 self | #BlogosphereCommunityChallenge

15th April 2020 10 Comments

Look, things have been tough recently. In fact the past few years have been challenging. The kind of challenges that make you wonder if there will be hope or a light at the end of the tunnel, but here’s the thing, as I always say “The only way to get through it is to get through it”.Β

You made a list of goals for 2020. Keep these close to you but be open to change as you will need to find the will to adapt.Β

I just want to say that you are a rock, despite feeling weak. You are destined for great things and I promise you will see that soon. You’re 22 and each battle makes you wiser and stronger. I wish I could say that you can take a chill out soon but for now you’re gonna have to keep your war gear on as this year is going to be one hell of a fight. You are a warrior.

Β You’re a badass gal and I’m so proud of you for getting up each day despite feeling crippled with anxiety, fear of failing and not being good enough. These challenges will feel like they are breaking you when in fact, they are making you. That passion and drive you harbour inside. That need to help others. You will need to ignite that flame more than ever now for your energy will be needed by so many lost souls in the months to come.Β

I need you to know that something is coming along and it’s going to really mess up a lot of things, well more like the entire world. BUT don’t be scared. You’ve got this. I just need you to know that things are going to change for a while. It could be a short while but It could be a long while depending on whether people listen, care and take appropriate action. The next few months are going to test your faith, cause you confusion and even disbelief.Β

Things are going to make you see what the world is and isn’t capable of. Another quote you live by is “We are stronger together” and you won’t believe it, but this quote is going to become so much more common. Our world leaders will speak, make bad and good decisions and leave us scared but more empowered than ever. We are going to need to get up and rise stronger than ever. You will be spending lots of time with yourself so let’s take this opportunity to befriend ourselves. Learn about yourself and what feeds your soul. High five your reflection! She needs you more than ever now.

Every Thursday you WILL be heard.
You will be emmiting gratitude, positivity and togetherness across the nation. You will hear and feel an overwhelming sense of strength, hope, love and will shed a tear or two. You will see more rainbows than ever before, but not necessarily in the sky. You will wear protective gear each time you leave home and will pass by many others wearing the same. You will appreciate that one packet of pasta left over in the back of your cupboard. You will have a tear in your eye when you see a free delivery slot for your grocery shop. You will miss friends and family. You will hear of hundreds of deaths and it will make your spirit feel weak, but it will make you realise how important taking action and playing your part is.

I see what is about to happen as almost like a book plot. And the kind of book where there is a moral at the end of it that makes you really think about life differently. When you finally get to the end of the final chapter you will have that same feeling of “What now? Things have become second nature and now we just go back to normal?”. It will be an experience that will change your life. It will change your perspective and make you cherish things you never thought you’d have to. When the book closes and the final chapter plays out until it gets further and further away as the minutes go by, you will realise the small things in life are so wonderful. The world is awake. History is being made. Be a positive part of it.

Here’s some things you should gather up for your mysterious journey about to come. Let’s treat it like a little picnic in the park. Get your cute little basket out and gather some of your cosy essentials that will comfort you:

* Your favourite books
* Some board games, card games and video games
* Cosy PJ’s
* Hot Chocolate, tea and coffee
* Your favourite blankets to keep you safe
* Motivational pictures, quotes and materials
* Your blogosphere Magazine collection for a rainy day of re-reading
* Your laptop, phone and chargers
* Your ways of feeling best connected to the world, friends and family

Things are going to change, but I promise things are going to get better. The world needs time to heal and now is the perfect chance. We are going to get through this!

A little poem to sum up the next few months

Dear lovely one,Β
Tough times are near
And sometimes you’ll find it hard to fight your fear.

The world will become still
People will have to unite
Now will be the time we come together and fight

Tears will be shed
Loss will be felt
Alone we may be at times
And our cards will be dealt.

Never will you feel so close whilst so far apart
You will find hope, love and faith whilst carrying a heavy heart.

It’s not going to be easy but life rarely is,
You’ll become stronger than ever whilst we face new beginnings.

Write, sing, work and create.
Maybe this was meant to be, if you believe in fate.

Things will become manic and I urge you NOT to panic.

You got this! Things are going to be ok.
Stay wonderful but most importantly Stay home and Stay safe!

Thank you for this lovely and inspiring post. I’ll admit I am getting quite down because of this pandemic. I’m an actor, so my livelihood has stopped completely, and I had one show this spring cancelled, and another one pushed back indefinitely. Things are big and scary right now. Thank you for your words of comfort, they really touched my heart today.

Thank you so much for reading Carolyn! And taking the time to comment. It means so much!
I can’t imagine how that must feel πŸ™ Acting is so expressive and I can imagine how it releases emotions we harbour whilst making you feel uplifted doing something you are so passionate about. I am the same with singing and luckily I can sing at home and make videos but with Acting I know how limiting this current situation can be.

I believe in you and I know that you can get through this and when things are back to normal you will be back on set and showing the world what you are made of! I can’t wait to hopefully hear all about it! I can imagine holding in passion for so long, you will explode with wonder when you can return to acting! You’ve got this Carolyn! Please keep in touch and let me know if you need a chat or just share your work with me before and after this pandemic is over πŸ™‚

Stay wonderful, stay safe but most importantly, keep your self belief!

Thank you so much for reading and commenting Bexa! It really does mean the world to me after sharing my personal post. I know how hard this time is for all and I wanted to hopefully have people who can relate as it can get quite lonely and worrying. It matters to me how the words resonate with people so I am so grateful to hear you felt connected.

Thank you again for being so wonderful! I love your colourful and bright blog!

      Stay wonderful and stay safe!

Here is my unboxing of my first Pause subscription box in April!

April was all about reading and finding calm through reading. In order to embrace pausing though reading, this month included a task where we make Pompom book marks.

With green yarn it was lovely to follow the guide and find calm whilst making a little pompom bookmark.
