Food is a huge part of all of our lives in one way or another. I am a huge foodie which is very important to me since my previous relationship with food was bad. Being an eating disorder survivor makes me so grateful for my improved feelings towards making and eating good food.
I find solace in baking and creating dishes for myself and family to enjoy. So here are some of my fave winter foods!
Pastry dishes
I am absolutely obsessed with making savoury pies and tarts during the colder seasons. They are the perfect food to experiment with and enjoy on a cosy night in. You can grab some frozen pastry and make tonnes of different flavours and fillings for the pies and tarts. I love to make mock chicken and gravy pies and bangers and mash tarts. It’s so simple yet so tasty and nourishing.
Soups and stews
There is nothing better than finishing your work day with a big warm and tasty homemade soup. You can have so many different flavours depending on your liking and can accompany it with some delicious crusty bread, shop bought or homemade. I love topping off my soup with a drizzle of vegan cream. Sitting at home with my family, watching fun films and digging into my soup to help wash the day away is perfection.
Brunch and lunch
I am a lover of trying out new brunch and lunches. I often keep it simple and easy to make since It’s often a rush with work, but I love trying new things.
In these pictures we have some vegan chicken marinated with various spices and herbs and on either toast or a bed of lovely veg. I also love cooking and experimenting with tofu. You can come up with so many wonderful dishes with minimal ingredients and that’s what I love!
Dinner dishes
Here we have a homemade tikka masala! There is nothing better than a curry made from scratch.
I love working with more ingredients for dinner and making food my family will enjoy. We experiment with all kinds of dishes using different types of ingredients.
