Happy Monday β˜•οΈ

I've been listening to an audiobook on @audible_com this morning whilst feeling the breeze from the window, before the school run.

Does anyone other Aspie have an incredibly sensitive sense of smell? To the point where it's uncomfortable?

I'd love to know! #AutismAcceptance #AutismAwareness #aspergers

Christmas Decor | Blogmas 14!

14th December 2019 Be first to comment

One thing I love so much about Christmas is decorating! It can instantly create a beautiful festive atmosphere in your home and bring warmth to your heart and soul. Whether you have a real or fake tree I’m sure your decorations, lights and fake snow will bring it to life as a main decoration in your home. Some don’t have room in their home for trees so you can either have a tiny one or use the rest of your decor to fill your home with festive spirit.

One thing I love is making homemade decorations! The feel of this beautiful homemade rustic wreath is amazing. It’s warming, autumnal, Christmas-y and super fun! It brightens up any room you desire to pop it in.

Wreaths are fun, unique and a great way to get creative with your Christmas decor. There is nothing better than being proud of a beautiful creation of yours and showcasing it in your home.

Lights! – I always have my waterfall lights in my window. They drape down and light up the entire window and leave a warm glow around the room. I fell in love with them after purchasing them from Amazon and I’ve never gone back! I love having an excuse to use them.

Putting up the tree!

If you have room for a tree in your home and love having one up, it can be so magical to do with your friends and family. The tree alone is beautiful but you can really make it your own when you put it all together with some baubles, tinsel, lights and a beautiful piece to top it!

Whether you prefer real or fake, the world is your oyster; well the tree is your oyster.. no?..

I love real trees as you can buy a potted one and plant it in the garden afterwards to give it another chance at life. They smell divine and just give off a gorgeous natural feel. Fake ones are just as beautiful too though so don’t worry if you don’t want the hassle of constantly cleaning up the fallen pine needles.

I love using quirky and unique decorations like this adorable avocado one, a glass hummingbird and homemade baubles.Β

Christmas tree decor!

This glittery avocado is such a quirky and fun decorative item for the tree! It's from 'Paperchase' and I've loved it since setting my eyes upon it. It's sparkly, funny, cute and super unique!
We use this angel wing candle holder to remember loved ones during Christmas since they can no longer be with us. It is a lovely touch to your home and a lovely way of bringing back those memories you cherish.
This unique, glam skull is dazzling! It's shimmery, pretty and again unique. I got this from 'Paperchase' and absolutely love getting it out for the Christmas tree each year. It's definitely not your average tree ornament right?
Each year we put up two tiny Christmas trees in honour of our lost loved ones who cannot be here to celebrate. This pink one is for my best friend 'Lucy' who passed away in 2012 after a long battle with Cystic Fibrosis. We were both only 15 when she died and things just aren't the same without her. We always want her to be part of our festive spirit so we put up this little tree with some decor on it next to her memorial corner in my home.

This humming bird is to die for. It is so delicate and beautiful and adds so much personality to your Christmas decor. It is classy sparkly and a gorgeous addition to my Christmas tree ornaments. Again this was from the lovely 'Paperchase'.
Candy canes and candles are just my idea of perfection. We love using these decorative candle bases for our festive scented candles. Why not pop them in the centre of a table with some candy canes.
After misplacing my Mums favourite decoration being this beautiful home with lights and music, I got her this candle holder gingerbread house. Since we love candles we couldn't have chosen a better little decoration to pop on the window ledge! This was from 'Flying tiger'.
This silver tree is also for our lost loved ones. We put an angel on top to represent those who left the earth and became angels. We have lost so many people in our lives and each year we physically feel the emptiness so we ensure we have the tree up to honour those who can't raise a glass and be merry.

Around the home

I've always kept these Zoella candles as they are a beautiful decoration during this festive time. When the wax ran out I simply put some tea lights in to create that warm glow around the house. I think Candles are a great form of decor doing Christmas as they look lovely, add some warm light in and smell great!

This is simply a christmas tree piece with some little silver and copper presents around it to add a pop of cute-ness!

The delightful dinner table!

One thing I love doing each Christmas is laying the table. You can get some lovely napkins and a super festive table cloth. Why not top it off with a fancy centre piece? It just adds that beauty and warm feeling when everyone gathers around the table ready to eat, drink and be merry.

I love taking pride in food presentation and aesthetics, hence why I love to make sure I have beautiful plates, mats, glasses and a presentable table.

Having your dinner at a decorated table makes Christmas even more special since you bring your loved ones together with food and drink.

As you can see I added a lovely autumnal touch with the coppers and fake leaf garlands. They go perfectly in the middle of the table to bring the decor into one.

What are some of your favourite decorations?
Stay wonderful!

Here is my unboxing of my first Pause subscription box in April!

April was all about reading and finding calm through reading. In order to embrace pausing though reading, this month included a task where we make Pompom book marks.

With green yarn it was lovely to follow the guide and find calm whilst making a little pompom bookmark.
