No matter who you are or how old you are, you deserve some ‘Me time’. We all have our own preferences in how we spend some well deserved time to ourselves; Whether that be knitting, going for a walk, taking a trip away, reading, a pamper evening, playing a favourite console game and the list goes on! No matter how busy we are or aren’t, we deserve some down time to reconnect with ourselves and practice self care and keeping a positive wellbeing. Here are some ways to spend your ‘Me time’:
Reading
There is nothing more I love than getting cosy and diving into a good book during any season. Of course Autumn and Winter are the cosiest but even during Spring and Summer, I find it nice and relaxing to get comfy, crack a window open and enjoy my current read. It can help by taking you to a new place mentally and provides escape from reality when needed!
Reading is also great for activating the mind and giving you that boost and inspiration. I find that my motivation to write my own blog and books increases when I read. Win win!
My current reads are Pride and Prejudice by Jane Austen, and The Cock down the block by Amy Award, which I read on my Kindle!
Bath/ shower and Skin care
Need I say more? For me, bath time is Louna time. It is the calm I need to soothe aching muscles, tired skin and a mind that needs nourishing. I love running a hot bath (Depending on the weather), using a wonderful bath bomb, gel or rocks and then immersing myself in the water whilst either listening to music or a podcast or reading a book with a refreshing beverage.
When I emerge from the gloriously scented bubbles, I adore getting into cosy PJ’s where my skin can breathe, having a glass of cold water and then doing my skincare. If there’s one thing I love taking my time with, it’s my skincare routine! I live and breathe skincare and really embrace it with all of my energy.
Pamper and detox
Fitting in with bath and skincare is this section! When I have had a particularly bad day or I feel like my skin and body are in need, I will set aside the evening and really get into a wellness pamper session. This consists of, herbal tea, healthy meal, lots of cold filter water, a glorious bath without technology, a face exfoliation or peeler, face masks, hair masks, lip masks, eye lash serum and even a foot spa! I love to have a good shave of my legs and parts and then using a lovely cream to rehydrate. I then usually follow it with a good night time routine reading my current read!
Detoxing is a great way to have a small fresh start and rejuvenation!
Preparing and eating a delicious meal
When the day has led up to the point where we need food, if I’m feeling creative and ready for a delicious meal I will put time and effort into making a lovely dinner which ultimately really relaxes me and makes me feel calm and at ease. I love putting the lamp on in the kitchen, making sure surroundings are clear and putting on some laid back pop on my Amazon Alexa. It’s so lovely to just be in that zone and come out with a delicious meal! Or even better, if the rainy day jar is available, maybe even order food in!
Playing your favourite games
One of my new favourite things to do lately is sit in the lounge with my other half or alone, playing games console or computer games. It is just so relaxing but also makes me feel boosted, happy and bright. It makes a change to just watching TV shows or diving into cheeky late night work. It forces me to accept breaks and do something else fun with my time! My current games are World of Warcraft and Power wash simulator. Another way of making your gaming sessions more comfortable is by looking into some specified gaming chairs like those from Game Over. Beauty 'pick me up'
To have a nice beauty pick me up is a refreshing experience for most. I personally love treating myself to a nail appointment, readying my hair or having a treatment. It’s a nice way to feel fresh, new and looked after. It’s always nice to treat yourself and feel important. After all, you are the most important person in your life. So if you have a few spare pennies and you enjoy beauty treatments, treat yourself.
However you choose to spend your ‘me time’, make sure you do something that suits you.
Thank you so much for reading.
Stay wonderful!

You can’t beat giving yourself a bit of ‘me time’. Even doing something as simple as doing my skincare routine can be classed as self-care! I also love reading as part of my ‘me time’ x

I am also currently reading Pride and Prejudice! I love to read outside when it’s warm enough, or in bed when it’s too cold. Lots of lovely ideas here 🙂 x
