Gratitude is an important aspect of mindfulness. Being aware of what youβre truly thankful for helps to boost your mental well-being and strengthen your relationships. Itβs possible for everyone to practise gratitude on a daily basis, even if itβs just remembering to thank someone that helped you. This will teach you to appreciate positive interactions and will improve your overall outlook on life. Itβs also important to make time for those close to you and show them your appreciation. Here are five simple ways to practise daily gratitude.
Be mindful of your interactions
In order to practise mindful gratitude, you need to step back, pause and be aware of your interactions. If someone helps you, even with something small, stop and remember to be thankful. After doing this a few times, youβll realise you experience more positive interactions on a daily basis than you might think.

Give gifts big or small
Show your appreciation by giving gifts whether theyβre big or small. Be mindful about what you choose and opt for more personal presents. What you give someone should depend on their needs and interests, whether itβs swarovski jewellery or a more practical item. The important thing is to consider the recipient, rather than buying something you want yourself. You could even add a personal touch by making your own gifts.
Make time for one another
Gift giving doesnβt have to be material. Make time for the people you appreciate in your life. There are plenty of feel good things to do for your loved ones. This will help to strengthen your relationships. Book a day off to spend helping a family member or friend, and show your gratitude by giving them your time.

Look back to the past
There are many benefits of past reflection. It allows you to learn from the mistakes youβve made and even remembering hard times will help appreciate the present. Be grateful for all you have achieved and celebrate every milestone along the way. Success and failure go hand in hand, so remember that every attempt you make is an important step towards achieving your goals. Remember the times where other people have helped you in the past as well. Try to make the effort to help someone else on a daily basis in return. Reflecting on the past in this way will motivate you to tackle lifeβs challenges in the future.
Daily meditation
Meditation is a great way to clear your mind and focus on the positives. Itβs an activity you can do daily. You donβt necessarily need any tools or equipment and you can meditate anytime anywhere. You could even try a guided gratitude meditation if youβre new to it. Listen to the instructions and learn how to be thankful every day. Gratitude is a mindfulness activity you can practise regularly. It enhances empathy, boosts your self-esteem, and can even help you sleep better. Practising gratitude doesnβt need to cost time or money, and it will improve your overall perspective on life.

Love the idea of not just giving things. Giving time is one of the greatest gifts you can give. Especially when you’re busy! It’s so true to never be too busy to notice an act of kindness however big or small either.
