Oh. My. Goodness. This book! I just cannot explain how obsessed I am with the characters, the story and the ending overall. It’s one of those books that plays on your mind days after you’ve finished it. I even found myself re-reading parts of it. That is why I have given it a 5/5 stars! It is so well written, nicely paced and personally I think is a really nice length.
Ali Hazelwood has done such a phenomenal job of writing a gripping, witty, funny, raunchy book with a great story, in depth characters and just a plot that keeps you on your toes, but comfortably. I literally did not want to put this book down and when I say that I mean it; I went to bed at 9.30pm, decided to read this book and the next time I looked up at the time it was 12.03am! So when I say I didn’t want to put it down, I meant it. It is truly addictive and I found myself needing to continue to find out what other sticky situations our main character Olive gets herself into with the hunk that is Adam… Oh Adam.. How I long to read more and more about these two characters (Insert dreamy eyes emoji)
So, the story is about Olive, a Ph.D student studying and working on research projects around Pancreatic cancer due to her unfortunate life story. The book starts us off with an encounter with a dark haired, strongly built guy when she can’t see due to her contact lenses being expired. A great scene to begin the story and one I keep thinking about all the way through. She then finds herself in a sticky situation one day and from there, the story unravels, with the other main character Adam.
As the story goes on there is character building, story progression and a series of hilarious and unfortunate events that just add layers and layers to it making it addictive. We clearly learn that Ali is indeed very good at writing nail bitingly, raunch scenes that truly gave me butterflies in my stomach, making me feel rather..’twirly’ should we say. They were so intense that once I’d finished the book after around three sittings, I re read those scenes and even showed my other half.
I won’t say much more about the plot other than, it is fantastic and I highly recommend to anyone who enjoys romance and romcoms. Funnily enough, as you can tell by my history of blog posts reviewing books, I actually don’t tend to read these genres, and like to delve into horror and crime, but I thought I’d take a break from gruesome and see if I can get into a good love story. The Love Hypothesis was so huge and spoken about on social media that I just had to give it a go, and my goodness I am so glad I did. It has opened up a new world to me of reading and I can only thank Ali Hazelwood.
So, I’ll stop rambling now, but please do check out this book if it tickles your fancy. You won’t regret it.
I hope you enjoyed my little review. Let me know in the comments if you have read this book or if you’d like to.
Stay wonderful!
