Subrisingly subtle additions that can transform any interior

Β

When it comes to decorating your home, and doing so with motivation and interest, it behooves you to focus on your own taste. Sometimes, this may include the combined taste of the person you live with, such as your spouse or long term partner. Β I still live with my mum and my partner in one house but since I won’t be getting my own home for a while I decided to take the reins and make this home beautiful!Β

When you become a homeowner and are free to decorate or implement your stylings as you see fit, you may suddenly find yourself at a loss with how to progress. This is because you have so many options open to you, selecting one among them all can be a difficult ask.

But what should our final intentions translate to, really? It’s important to know this, because it can help you feel a little calmer about the whole process. If you’re not having fun with interior decoration and design, you shouldn’t feel forced to carry it out. Furthermore, it’s often the most subtle additions that can make the most aesthetic impact, so you needn’t have to focus on getting everything perfect in one fell swoop. These things take time. A lot of time!

This can seem self-evident, but that’s not always the case. With the following advice, I may be able to help you achieve this most wonderful of considerations:

Flooring

Renewed flooring, such as beautiful carpets or laminate flooring, can redefine the character of a room. Aside from the walls, it will be the largest surface area that you have to decorate, and most people do not think of flooring as a decoration, only a utility. Yet if you find the perfect flooring with great materials, design and colour, you will notice that your room takes on a brand new feeling, even with a relatively small investment. We have been renovating on a budget and have come across Lino flooring and they are great for a simple fix. We have a geometric, illusion patterned Lino in the kitchen and grey wooden plank patterned Lino in one of the bedrooms. They were relatively easy to put down and will last a good while!

If you are open to more expensive flooring then there are many options out there for you and professionals to do it for you too so you don’t have to lift a finger.

Mirror Placement

The mirror placement, and the size of said mirror, will often have a massive impact on how your room feels, and how the natural lighting is influenced there. Mirrors, placed correctly, can sometimes give you the impression of a doubled space, and so that’s worth considering. From above-mantle mirrors to free-standing options in the corner of a room, a mirror can feel like a significant change without actually leaving your room feeling bulky or overdecorated. For that reason, in smaller rooms especially, utilizing a mirror wiith a framing you enjoy can be a great addition. And let’s face it, there is a mirror out there for any and all with different shapes and sizes.

Since swapping my huge skull canvas to a big mirror in between the windows in my bedroom on the chunk of wall, my room looks so much brighter and bigger. It adds depth and space and really does change how the room feels! It was vital to find ways to create that feel of space as we have had to fit a lot of things in our room with the Curren changes in our home circumstances so using a mirror to do this was fantastic!

Furniture arrangement

Furniture arrangement can help transform a room from top to bottom, without having to spend a penny. Consider how people walk in the room and where the empty space is. Consider how certain ornaments or decorations may be taking up undue room. If you have a side coffee table that no one seems to use, is it really necessary? Might your side-sofa tables be enough? This is not for everyone of course, but it’s worth asking these questions to more appropriately design the space with your taste and pure practicality in perfect balance. This way, your interior will take on new life, and will ultimately become a space you’re happier to reside within. And let’s face it, our home is for living in every day so we need it to be wonderful and make us feel happy within

There is no need for new furniture to cost a lot either. So if you need a new table or wardrobe, you can always find one to suit your budget. For those on a budget and want to invest in supply-only furniture and are happy to set it up yourself, Online Bedrooms is a great place for those who want the cheaper alternative. You don’t have to spend an extortionate amount to get good quality furniture. You can spend less and save more by setting it up yourself.Β

With this advice, I hope you can add some surprisingly subtle additions that will transform any interior.

I hope these little additions can help with your home transformation! Let me know in the comments.

Stay wonderful!

Great post! I absolutely agree with you about the mirror placing!
I don’t like having much furniture in my home so mirrors really make the difference.
Also, I really like laminate flooring.

Thank you for sharing this with us! πŸ™‚

Completely agree with how big a difference furniture placement can make! I recently re-decorated my room and moved my wardrobe and the difference it made to the size of my room was incredible. Thanks for sharing!

Arranging furniture is such a great idea when you can’t afford to buy anything new. That little change and movement of furniture can change so much in a good way! x

Here is my unboxing of my first Pause subscription box in April!

April was all about reading and finding calm through reading. In order to embrace pausing though reading, this month included a task where we make Pompom book marks.

With green yarn it was lovely to follow the guide and find calm whilst making a little pompom bookmark.
