Slug & Lettuce
We started our evening with having some food and drink at the Slug & Lettuce. I love this place! It accommodates for vegans and other dietary requirements and does wonderful cocktails – 2 for 1! You can’t beat that hehe. We take selfies, laugh, share some face glitter and dance at the table. It is a low key, small little bit of fun in a lovely bar before heading off to the city centre to see a theatre production. My friends bought me tickets to a production and that is why we are out and about together (Which is rare!).
Theatre: Singing in the rain
We headed to the theatre in Birmingham city centre and bought a bottle of bubbly between us! The fun began. Although we were sat at the back, we could still hear and see the actors on stage clearly through some fancy binoculars! We enjoyed our prosecco sipping whilst being enchanted in the singing, acting, dancing, being sprayed with water and the intense american accents put on by the actors! It was a wonderful play from what we saw. The music was great, the dancing was faultless, the outfits were beautiful and the actors were fantastic! A well executed performance for the first half.
Unfortunately we got to the break and all decided to leave the theatre after over and hour of sitting there. We really enjoyed it but we failed the understand the story and wanted to have a good catchup to make up for lost time and rare meetings!
The Head of Steam!
After the theatre we found a newish bar called Head of Steam! It was so cool inside! It was beautifully decorated and the layout meant that if you fancy a loud party like atmosphere you could go to that part and enjoy, but if you’re more of the sit and chat type, you could go to a part to do just that. We decided to sit near the door for a bit of a breeze and it was lovely. We had prosecco and just sat and chatted the whole time.
We spotted our old science teacher and it was rather amusing! We ended up chatting about our achievements and where we all are in life now. It was funny and cool to see how we was doing as well as sharing our growth and development in life since he last saw us!
After a few hours there we left and walked to get a taxi home. It was a fairly early night for a ‘night out’ and we wouldn’t have had it any other way. Town gets rowdy and scary and I was ready for bed hehe!
