Morning Tea & Toast
The video begins with a cosy morning of myself making some toast and tea ready to start the day. I use my new favourite mug from ‘The Card Factory’. It is such an inspiring mug and picks me up on days where I am full of self doubt.
I find that the perfect way to start the day is to get some energy and wake up with a nice warm drink and some warming, quick and easy food; Toast for that matter! It’s always a perfect small brekkie for me as it can be accompanied by so many different things to each persons tastes.
What’s better than sitting in a warm bed or sofa, drinking tea out of an inspiration mug and slowly waking up your mind body and soul hehe. Let’s face it, not all mornings are this calm and tranquil!
Chit Chats!
I start off chatting about the skincare I have done this morning! I used and rave about the nspa micellar water which is so refreshing on the skin. It is used to tone and moisturise skin with it’s added oil element. It is as simple as popping a generous amount onto an oval pad and rubbing it in circular motions across your face and neck area being gentle around the eyes and lips.
After my cleanse and toning ritual I use and talk about the Superdrug Naturally radiant skincare range including the brightening radiance balm and the day time moisturiser. Both are my top choices in general as I love the range so much for my skin type and routine. They smell wonderful and are a range focused on reviving skins radiance! This is always my go to!
Think4Brum work day
I am getting ready for a day of work in town on a project with Think4Brum which is within my mental health advocacy work. We were working on an interview discussing Birminghams mental health scene and Forward thinking Birmingham. We focused on how the service is doing and how we can improve and progress on service, outreach and early intervention. During the interview I managed to sneak a little video in! It was a lovely interview and we look forward to many more projects to come.
Keeping content real and accepting ourselves for all we are!
I chat about how I like to keep my content as realistic as possible to send positive messages and prove to people that we all have lives just as ordinary on and off of our screens on devices. Even those who are famous and have a huge following still have their problems just like all of us! I like to keep my content as real as possible to avoid people thinking they aren’t good enough without makeup and always have to worry about getting the right angle of their faces. I think if we all accept ourselves and show that we don’t always have to have perfect skin or hair or even clothes or your home, it would help others feel even more adequate and worthy.
Nikki Lilly is wonderful!
I spoke in my vlog about how lovely Nikki Lilly is! She is inspiring, beautiful, kind, friendly and I admire her bravery and will to succeed in life despite struggles. She has helped me realise that despite set backs, to keep going and pushing through as you will find your place and all work will have been worth it!
Societies pressure on young people
I moved on to chat about how much pressure society puts on young people these days. At the age of 12/13 and around there, we are expected to know who we are, what we are and what we want in life. We are expected to choose GCSE’s, A levels and all else based on a chosen career in life. How are we meant to know exactly what we want to be during the most difficult times of our life? We are going through puberty, doing exams, finding our friendship group, deciding what music we like, figuring out our sexuality and all else. I think people need to realise that you don’t have to have everything figured out. Life is full of twists and turns and we will learn along the way and things will work out for the best.
Autism and sensory issues & overcoming them
I spoke about having autism sensor issues as a child and how bizarre it was that for a very long time the thought of having something in or on my eye would freak me out. I hated anything going up my nose or in my eyes or ears and even developed a fear of choking and had to eat foods that were easy to eat like mash and soup. I couldn’t bare the thought of eye makeup until I was about 13 and struggled even then! I managed to train myself to defeat these issues and overcome them and I’m so proud that I saw it through and found ways of coping and learning how to handle them.
I express my deep love and obsession of buying Makeup Revolution Eye shadow palettes! They are a fab company with some wonderful prospects and create just wonderful products!
The vlog ends with a little look around boots and then me dying my hair orange with the arctic fox hair dye!
