Earlyish nights and feeling mentally awake call for a bit of reading πŸ“š I'm loving having @AmazonKindle on my phone. My current go to read on my phone is 'Under one roof' by Ali Hazelwood 😍

How to Plan the Perfect Bathroom Remodel | Collaborative post

While your youth may have been filled with plans to travel the world or even live abroad, things change once you reach adulthood (Don’t I know it!). You get an idea of just how much it costs to survive, let alone thrive in the modern world, and so your priorities shift ever so slightly in another direction. For homeowners, this direction is creating the house of your dreams, and one of the most exciting ways to do this is to remodel your bathroom, giving you a little luxury to help you relax and get away from the rest of the house. You can’t just choose any sort of remodelling, though. You need to know how to plan it to make sure it’s everything you hope for and everything it could be.

Know your needs (But be realistic)

Before you get in touch with contractors for quotes, you need to know what you need from your bathroom. These needs will vary between families, but one of the most common needs is to increase space and convenience within the house, especially if everyone needs to shower first thing in the morning. This seems simple enough, but it’s important to be realistic about what you can achieve, especially as not being realistic ranks among one of the major mistakes homeowners make when renovating their house and can lead to disappointment later. Balance is key so remember you can find what works and what is meant to be through compromise and thinking realistically and clearly.

Measure the space

It should seem like a no brainer to measure the space, but it’s still one way to ensure your bathroom remodel goes off without a hitch, ensuring you can choose the perfect Bristan bathroom taps, shower head, and sink design without taking up too much space. Measuring the space before doing anything else will help you pass on the correct details to contractors. From there, they can draw up blueprints and give you options for how your bathroom could look, depending on your preferences.Β We did our bathroom on the low down and on a budget with a fantastic friend who helped with planning and installation. We have a very small bathroom so we had to be very precise with measurements of the room overall and all of the new additions

Get Expert Advice and Find Inspiration

You also need expert advice and inspiration if you’re going to create a bathroom that is the epitome of relaxation and luxury. This means you need to know how to avoid cowboys who aren’t up to standard, while also shopping around for different styles that make your bathroom look the part without upsetting the design balance of your home. There are plenty of ways to find inspiration, whether from friends, design blogs, or your travels, and you’ll easily find something you love. One of my favourite resources of home inspo is Pinterest!Β

Fix what's broken

Remodelling your bathroom is also the chance to fix what’s broken. Perhaps you’re struggling for storage space or lacking energy efficiency. You can think about how your bathroom can boost your home’s performance and make it work for you. By researching ideas and speaking to quality contractors, you’ll get enough of an understanding about what works to create a bathroom that you can be proud of. It will look good, but more importantly, it will do everything you’ve always wanted from a bathroom, and dramatically increase your home’s functionality, even if it’s just with simple storage ideas.Β

A little luxury

It doesn’t matter who you are, everyone deserves a little luxury in their home. What better place to cultivate a luxurious atmosphere than by remodelling your bathroom? You can make the most of your space, fix what’s broken, and give yourself room to unwind after a stressful day.

Thank you for reading! I hope you enjoyed and find some inspiration in planning your bathroom remodel and renovation.

Stay wonderful!

Here is my unboxing of my first Pause subscription box in April!

April was all about reading and finding calm through reading. In order to embrace pausing though reading, this month included a task where we make Pompom book marks.

With green yarn it was lovely to follow the guide and find calm whilst making a little pompom bookmark.
