So for day 27 it is Halloween plans and parties, but let’s face it, I’m in Birmingham which means no two house holds can meet unless outdoors, and with the weather at the moment, that is not really ideal so it’s a good job there are other ways to spend Halloween! Below I will share various ways you can spend your precious Halloween time!
Virtual night in with friends!
Having to be apart does not mean we cannot be together! And not just in spirit either. Being in such an advanced age with technology that quite literally blows off your socks, it has never been easier for tech users to be so close yet so physically far away from loved ones and colleagues. A few weeks ago one of my besties and I joined an evening of playing a new horror games called Phasmophobia with our other halfs and some wonderful friends. We could hear and speak to each other whilst enjoying a fun game and having a cheeky tipple. It lasted for a few hours and was just so lovely since we can’t get together with lockdown rules. With technology, plans and parties can still happen with so many people too! Gather up your loved ones, get them on their phones, tablets or other device and have a cracking evening!
Some virtual plans you can make:
* Games night
* Movie marathon
* Quiz night
* Catch up
* Dress up, fun makeup & music
Solo night in
To be honest this is one of my favourite things to do! It’s also something I’ve had to get used to since my other half is doing the late shift now. It’s not for everyone but it’s so calming to just enjoy your own company sometimes, play some video or PC games, do some makeup looks, sort out your clothes, carve a pumpkin, watch some Halloween and Horror films!
Pumpkin patch, farm or Halloween event
I find the perfect day out and plan during Autumn is the pumpkin patch or a spooky Halloween event! It is such a good way to get the Halloween vibes going. You can pick pumpkins, get some awesome pictures and just have a super Autumnal day. If you’re a spook fan then Halloween events, festivals and shows are a great way to stay entertained during this fab season. I know with the global pandemic and a lot of us still under restrictions a lot of events and pumpkin patches have either shut down or are very limited so maybe you could even search for virtual Halloween events!
I also had an awesome idea of how we could bring events to us!
* At home pumpkin patch – I thought of this idea for the kids. We could buy lots of pumpkins and squash from the supermarket and put them all in the garden surrounded by Autumn leaves and even some hay stacks if possible! The beasts can then go and pick their own from the mini patch. It’s not perfect but it’s a great idea for those who can’t make it to a patch.
Delicious feast at home
When all else fails, especially with all of these government restrictions, stay home and have a feast either solo or with your household, maybe even share the feast with a virtual catch up! Get in the kitchen or order in, make your home cosy and relaxing, get the candles lit, the lamps on, your favourite shows or movies and enjoy tucking into a divine feast. Food, fun, chill, books, TV and not even having to get all dolled up, unless you want to!
Meals out
A lovely day out is a meal! You can get dressed up, feel lovely and not have to worry about preparing your food and washing up because someone else will do it for you. I love to sit in a restaurant or bar where it’s nice and warm, with my household and we can dig into delicious (hopefully) food whilst enjoying our desired beverage. There are so many cuisines to choose from so the world is your oyster.
Pumpkin carving
Each year I usually plan an annual pumpkin carving gathering and a Halloween party but due to lockdown restrictions it cannot happen sadly. BUT that does not mean that we don’t still do it. We love to sit watching some Halloween themed films or shows, with a delightful beverage, tasty warming food and tonnes of pumpkins dotted around for us to design and carve. It’s a lovely relaxing and productive day in.
For those lucky enough to not be in lockdown still or have less restrictions then I recommend hosting a pumpkin carving! You can read more about it and parties here.
Makeup and fashion
Whether you are a pro or not, you can get yourself a nice cosy night or day in, doing lots of fun and creative things like makeup, putting together some cool fashion looks and just have a wild evening! Drink in hand, good food and no one to judge. Another great evening full of fun and creations.
Thank you for reading! What do you love doing during Autumn and Halloween?
Stay wonderful!
