We move onto a time-lapse of me going through my clothes drawers and throwing away things I no longer want and reorganising my way of putting them back. Alongside sorting and folding clothes, I am singing and dancing and basically just being a big weirdo and having fun hehe. It’s the small things in life that can make things wonderful, like me singing and dancing to Taylor Swift and wearing leggings as a hat.Β
If you’ve been following my blog and socials for a while now, you’ll know that early this year I worked with the BBC on a morning radio broadcast and TV appearance based on the KonMarie tidying method by the goddess of tidying ‘Marie Kondo’. We covered how the book and Netflix series helped myself and my family through traumatic time, such as my brothers attempted suicide. We discussed how tidying and decluttering has helped our mental health and continue to embrace that method throughout our lives.Β
Although I was deemed ‘KonMarie Pro’ I take this lightly and like to find my own way of embodying the method with my own twist, so please don’t judge me if my folding technique isn’t mastered. I am shown in my vlog using boxes to separate and organise my clothes and layout my items in the drawer in a stacked upright position. I have not colour coordinated and haven’t fully stuck to Marie’s method of dark shades moving into light, but I’m happy with my method intertwined with hers.Β
I do believe that something as simple as reorganising your bedside table and wardrobe can have a huge impact on your mental and emotional wellbeing, bringing in fresh starts, clear surroundings and maybe even a clear mind.
