Creating the bathroom of your dreams | Collaborative post

When designing the bathroom of your dreams, there are many things to consider. From the layout to the finishes and accessories, there are a lot of details to think about. So whether you’re just starting to plan your dream bathroom or you’re almost finished and have a few questions, read on for all the information you need.

Layout

The layout of your bathroom is one of the most important aspects to consider. You’ll need to think about how much space you have, what you want to use it for, and what style you want to go for. There are four main layout options: ensuite, jack and jill, corridor, and studio.

Ensuite

An ensuite bathroom is an excellent option if you’re looking for some privacy. It’s attached to the bedroom and has only one entrance/exit, which means that you can close the door and have some peace and quiet. Ensuites are usually relatively small, but there are a few tricks you can use to make them feel bigger, such as opting for a wet room instead of a traditional shower/bathroom combo.

Jack and Jill

Jack and Jill’s bathrooms are perfect for families or anyone who wants to have two separate areas in their bathroom. They usually have two entrances/exits, one for the toilet area and one for the sink/shower area. This allows each person to use their own space without having to share.

Corridor

Corridor bathrooms are long and narrow, with all of the fixtures lined up against one wall. This is an excellent option if you’re short on space, as it doesn’t require much square footage. Corridor bathrooms can be tricky to decorate, but there are some great ways to make them feel more open and inviting.

Studio

Studio bathrooms are the largest type of bathroom and are perfect for those who want a spa-like experience. They usually have one large room that contains all of the fixtures, with plenty of space for relaxation. Studios can be challenging to design if you’re not an experienced designer, but there are some great tips out there to help you get started.

Finishes

The next thing to consider is the finishes in your bathroom. This includes everything from the flooring and walls to the cabinets and countertops. There are many different options to choose from, so it’s essential to think about what you want before making any decisions. Some things to keep in mind include durability, maintenance, cost, and style.

Flooring

Flooring is a very important part of the bathroom, and it’s essential to choose something that will be durable and easy to maintain. Ceramic tiles are a popular choice, as they are both tough and easy to clean. However, if you’re looking for something a bit more luxurious, marble or granite flooring can be a great option. Just keep in mind that these materials are a bit more expensive and require regular cleaning and polishing.

Walls

When it comes to walls, there are also lots of different options to choose from. Tiles are again a popular choice, as they are durable and easy to clean. Another option is wallpaper, which can add some extra personality to your bathroom. Just make sure that you choose a water-resistant wallpaper, as bathrooms can be pretty humid.

Cabinets and countertops

Cabinets and countertops are another important part of the bathroom, and there are many different options to choose from. Wood is a popular choice for cabinets, as it is durable and easy to clean. However, if you’re looking for something a bit more luxurious, marble or granite countertops can be a great option. Just keep in mind that these materials are a bit more expensive and require regular cleaning and polishing.

Accessories

Once you’ve chosen the finishes for your bathroom, it’s time to start thinking about accessories. This includes everything from towel racks to toilet brushes. There are endless possibilities when it comes to bathroom accessories, so it’s essential to choose something that will suit your needs and style. Some things to keep in mind include durability, functionality, and aesthetics.

Towel racks

Towel racks are a must-have in any bathroom, and there are many different options to choose from. If you’re looking for something simple and functional, a basic towel rack is a good option. If you’re looking for something more stylish, there are plenty of decorative towel racks available too. Just make sure that the rack is made from a durable material that can withstand moisture.

Toilet brushes

Toilet brushes may not be the most exciting accessory, but they are an essential part of any bathroom. There are many different designs to choose from, so you can find one that will suit your style. Make sure to select a brush that is easy to clean and store, as they can tend to be quite dirty.

Budget

Your budget plays a vital part. If money is no option, then the department stores and online stores are your oyster. However, if you need to work on a strict budget, do your research and compare prices. There are many cheap ways to create a bathroom of your dreams, including some DIY projects you can tackle.Β

So there you have it! These are just some of the things to consider when creating the bathroom of your dreams. Keep in mind that every bathroom is different, so don’t be afraid to get creative and experiment with different ideas.

Thank you so much for reading. I hope this has helped you with planning and creating the bathroom of your dreams.

Stay wonderful!

Here is my unboxing of my first Pause subscription box in April!

April was all about reading and finding calm through reading. In order to embrace pausing though reading, this month included a task where we make Pompom book marks.

With green yarn it was lovely to follow the guide and find calm whilst making a little pompom bookmark.
