So, if you have been over onto my Youtube channel, you may have seen my March Books that matter review! I decided this month I would do a blog post as well as a youtube video so without further-ado here is my unboxing and review of this months ‘April’ Books that matter.
This months theme is based around ‘Women’s black history month’ and is based on the quote ‘Dare to be powerful’ which I LOVE! – Last months theme was around International womens day and celebrated legendary women in history which was super inspiring. The art work and colours are refreshingly elegant and deep and definitely caught my eye when I opened the box. I ADORE IT!
Products included in the box
Within each box there are accessories and goodies that go alongside the book(s) and all match the theme of the chosen books. So within this one we have a lovely lot of goodies to enjoy and feel connected to. These include:
A Bookmark and picture/ Leaflet – These little additions are lovely. They match the art work from the book and I can definitely see the leaflet picture in a frame on the wall when I have my own home. It’s absolutely beautiful. I cannot wait to read the book and use my fancy little bookmark.
Cards and envelopes – Alongside the art work and bookmark there are two cards with envelopes. Both cards match the box theme art and inside have lovely quotes by amazing women. You can either use the cards to send to your fave women to offer some inspiration or you can keep them for yourself when you need an extra boost or even frame them!
Socks and lipstick – Well doesn’t that sound like the ultimate duo! When I opened up the box and saw socks (That rhymes!) I was over the moon. I was very excited which I know may sound bizarre but if you know, you know. Socks are dreamy, especially these ones that perfectly match this months box of goodies. And then you have the ‘Pink Salad LDN’ Hydrating lip gloss which smells of fruit salad and is a lovely shade that can match many different skin colours which is awesome. Of course the lippy is Cruelty free and vegan too which makes it perfect. So all of this together makes the perfect evening; socks, lippy and books!
Books!
So… Drum roll please. The main part of this box, books of course!
So this month brought us two books. One main book and another little one.
The Master’s tools will never dismantle the master’s house by Audre Lorde – Within this small book there are parts of essays and poems within certain topics such as ‘Uses of erotic’ and ‘Learning from the 1960’s’. I look forward to reading this, learning and sharing with people from these awesome and powerful change maker women!
Conjure women by Afia Atakora – So the main event of course. This book is described as ‘a captivating novel of belief and suspicion, friendship and betrayal, and the lengths we will go to save the ones we love’. This isn’t the sort of book I would reach for but I am very intrigued by it and cannot wait to dive into it whilst wearing my cosy socks, pink salad lip gloss and being surrounded by the art work created by the incredible artists!
Thank you for reading! You can also see my Youtube video unboxing too over on my channel. I’d love to know what you think and if you have had a books that matter subscription before.
Stay wonderful!
