So today is Autumn date ideas! I love doing wonderful things with my other half and thinking of dates in Autumn seems super whimsical. I love the cosy element that fills Autumn and colder seasons so here are some cute date ideas I have come up with that embrace this beautiful season. I think there should be something for everyone!
You could come together to create a bucket list for your Autumn together as a couple or just enjoy ticking off your own list but completing your tasks together to make it more fun. It’s so lovely to try and do different things together to keep every day fun, different and full of love. Creating memories is the best thing to do with someone you love in my opinion.
Romantic cosy meal
If you enjoy going out for meals, this one will be perfect for you. It is getting out, dressing up and feeling lovely, eating (hopefully) good food and raising a glass or two.. or three. When it comes to going for food, there is such a huge variety of places to choose from which makes it an exciting date idea. You can choose a lovely cosy restaurant with your favourite cuisine! I personally love lunch or dinner dates. There are so many places to eat around me luckily as I live a bus journey away from Birmingham city centre. Some reviews of places to eat in Brum will be up on the blog in the coming months!
A day at the pumpkin patch
For us, Autumn is our favourite season so we love to do very Autumnal activities including picking pumpkins, carving them and having a cosy night in with candlelit pumpkins surrounding us whilst we watch horror movies. Each year we like to take a trip to the pumpkin patch. We walk around admiring the big ones, small ones, funny shaped ones and ones that no one wants to home, so we jump in and rescue them! One year we even had a ‘bumpkin’ which looked just like two big butt cheeks. We fell in love and had to have him hehe!
Go to a concert, show or production
This year this one is a little off the cards for most people due to Coronavirus but in this case make your own little production or concert at home! Almost every day my little niece likes to put on a show and dance and sing even when we aren’t ready for a show! If you’re lucky enough to have the option with going out safely then this is a wonderful date idea!
Go to the cinema to watch a horror
Again if you’re lucky enough to have cinemas open or if safety measures are in place then this is a great way to spend a date night out! It’s cosy, warm inside, you can get some lovely snacks and get into the Autumn and Halloween spirit if you decide to watch a spooky film or horror. I personally much prefer staying in and watching films so I can hide behind a pillow when it gets to scary and have a toilet break without missing anything!
Movie marathon night and takeaway
So if you’re like me and you’d rather stay in with your PJ’s on, fluffy socks, hair up in a bun, watching films and getting food ordered in then this one is perfect for you! I love just relaxing completely in the comfort and safety of my own home, having a few beverages of my choice whether that be alcohol or not and then getting a big delicious takeaway from the cuisine of my choice! It’s lovely to be in bed or in the lounge with some candles on, food and drink at the ready and pillows ready for any jump scares when we watch horrors! Plus during Autumn it is lovely to be surrounded by your homes Autumn decor.
Camp out in your garden
Yep that’s right I said it! Camp out in your garden. If you’re lucky enough to have a garden, how about a cosy tent, blankets, candles, a campfire and some drinks? It may not seem appealing to all but I bet it would be super cosy and cuddly for some!
A walk in the park with Autumn leaves
Living so romantically you can just imagine strolling down the road and heading into a park full of big trees beautifully coloured with reds, purples, oranges, browns and yellows hand in hand as the wind blows and the leaves crunch under your feet. I know it’s definitely not always like those romantic scenes in the movies but it’s still a lovely thing to do! Fresh air, cosy coats, holding hands, chatting and enjoying natures beauty.
Go out to a cool cocktail bar
One date idea I adore is going out for cocktails! We have our favourite cocktail bar in our local towns and we love going and enjoying some wonderful concoctions made by the professionals! Our favourite places in Birmingham are The Alchemist, Slug and Lettuce, The Lounges, The cosy club and The lost and found. They are super lovely inside with comfortable seating and inviting atmosphere. The food and drink is wonderful and really sets you up for a fantastic romantic evening.
Bowling, arcade and games outside home
Providing it is safe to do so in your area during Coronavirus, a lovely date night is heading out for some fun and games! Here in Birmingham we have places like bowling, ghetto golf, arcades and lots of fun activities for all kinds of people! I’m unsure of whether things like this are allowed currently but depending on your local government guidance and safety put in place it very much so depends. Games like bowling and arcades are super fun for dates! Whether you’re the competitive type or just the taking part type I’m sure it will be lovely for you and your other half.
Coffee date trying new Autumnal flavours
This one is a favourite of mine considering I do this on my own already! I love going into coffee shops during the cold crisp Autumn days with my partner and trying the Autumn coffee syrups and delicious desserts! It’s super romantic being cosied up inside a warm cafe enjoying your other halfs company whilst sipping a warm drink and digging into a rich sweet delight.
Games night in
Game nights in are the best in my opinion. They are cosy, fun, safe and you don’t have that extra pressure of how to look, what to wear or how long you’ll be out etc. You’ll already be home in comfy clothes with no social pressure and just the fun of playing games, feeling relaxed and enjoying yours and your partners company with unlimited food, drink and extra cuddles.
Thank you for reading! What is your ideal Autumn date? There are so many choices providing you stay safe during this bizarre time.
Stay wonderful!
