One of my favourite things I came across in the package was this ‘Holiday Cheer’ box containing six decorative tins of flavoured loose black tea. I expected a uniform set of tins and was so excited when I opened the box to find six unique tins decorated to suit the flavour.
So.. want to hear about the flavours?
Gingerbread tea:
Upon opening this tin I was overwhelmed with how packed full it was. Some loose leaf actually flew out giving off a beautiful aroma almost like fresh baked cookies! The smell was almost creamy. It was smooth and slightly zesty and held a savoury taste with a hint of sweetness. It felt like a hug in a mug. It was a great start!
Candy Apple tea:
The smell was similar to the first tea upon opening but had little pieces of apple in if I’m correct, which was lovely. Upon tasting it was similar to the gingerbread tea however you could taste the candy, almost like a dark caramel/toffee with a hint of sweet and slightly bitter apple. It lingers on the tongue for a while and my view was that it was quite a strong taste, a little stronger than expected. I was expecting sweeter tones however still enjoyed it!
Pumpkin Spiced Tea:
I am a huge fan of anything pumpkin spiced and so I was so excited to try this flavour! It did not disappoint. Again it smelt very similar to the first two but held a more subtle pleasing flavour that wasn’t as bitter as the first two. It was my Mum and boyfriends least favourite however it was my favourite of the three so far.
Chestnut tea:
This tea smells divine and most certainly nutty! It is the most significant taste of them all and lingers on the tongue long after finishing. It is smooth, tasty and something I didn’t expect to enjoy, however I was wrong. I really liked it and can’t wait to get my friends to have their opinions on them.
Candy Cane tea:
Wow! This tea has taken over as number one. It is beautiful and I’d say it is my perfect tea. It is smooth , fresh and you get a lingering cool taste and feel. It is the quite simply the perfect balance of sweet, smooth and freshness. I have found my new favourite tea!
Cranberry tea:
This tea is more like a simple english breakfast tea. It is smooth, subtle and balanced. If I wanted a more simple tasting tea, I’d reach for this one, the same for if I had guests who were more so leaning towards regular breakfast tea.
It was a dream trying these teas and I came out with a new fave! The Candy Cane tea! – I will be showing my friends favourites in the near future.
I did find the fact they were filled to the brim a little inconveniencing as each time I opened a tin, lots fell out and some of the tins are harder to open than others so take care when opening. I learnt my lesson whilst opening the first tin with force and it went all over the floor and myself haha. A few tasted very similar but I think different palettes will experience different things. Overall I really enjoyed this selection and stocking filler gift. To shop this gift, click on either picture! They are £12.
