With many of us spending a lot of last year in our own homes, it is no wonder that we might all be feeling a little bored of our current decor. Sprucing up your bedroom doesn’t always need a grand renovation. Even a few simple changes can transform your room and help it feel fresh again. Here are just a few simple ways you can give your bedroom a new look.
Storage
Bedroom storage is often very functional and it might consist of lots of different pieces of furniture. Think about whether you can free up some of that space by creating built in wardrobes. Built in wardrobes come in a huge variety of styles and can be adapted to suit the size and shape of your bedroom to create a stylish but functional storage solution. If your room is small, you can create a sense of space by doubling up the wardrobe doors as mirrors that help the room feel light and airy.

New bedding
Many people love the feeling of freshly cleaned sheets when they go to bed. For most bedrooms, the bed is often the focal point that dominates the room. New bedding can transform the space and make it feel new. If you have busy wallpaper or a feature wall then calmer block-colored bedding is recommended. However, with more neutral walls patterned bedding may be an attractive alternative. If you are getting new bedding try to buy a couple of sets and that way you will only need to put on the old bedding in emergencies.
Lighting
There are endless options when it comes to the lighting within a bedroom. You can create small pools and focal points by using lamps and overhead lighting can also create a chilled atmosphere if done correctly. Many people’s bedrooms are multi-functional spaces and you should consider your bedroom’s use when you light it. For example, you may have gym equipment or an office desk within the room. Moody lighting might be useful at bedtime but it may not be suitable for your exercise class. Think about how your lighting interacts with your windows as well. If you get a lot of daylight then you might only need to use lights in the winter.

Walls
The walls of your bedroom can change over time. Sunlight may begin to wash out the color on some walls and wear and tear might result in small nicks and scratches. Touching these up will make your room feel brand new and will be less expensive than completely changing the color or wallpaper in the room. If you do want a change then consider colors that will go with your furniture, bedding, and curtains to avoid having to change everything.
Flooring
Finally, remember your feet. You may enjoy the rustic feeling of hardwood under your toes or you may prefer a plush carpet that is soft on those soles. Whatever your preference, you should be aware that flooring does become worn from years of use. A new carpet or rug can change the entire feel of a room.
Thank you so much for reading. I hope you are inspired to reinvent your bedroom.
Stay wonderful!
